PULSE-ART seeks to create evidence of how the arts can be a tool in all educational spaces to enhance cultural expression and awareness (CAE).

It will identify gaps in the education systems of 7 countries to foster CAE and integrate the creative industry to overcome these barriers.
A common methodology will be developed to be applied in 7 case studies with different artistic formats: Greece VisuatTech; Latvia Dance; Netherlands LifeArts; Spain Scientific Illustration; France GameArt; Malta GameJams; and Morocco Music.

A Competence Framework, a Professional Development Programme and a self-reflection tool will be created. In addition, Collaborative Hubs will be created between educational, academic, cultural, educational and cultural policy institutions to co-create national plans and public policy recommendations at different levels.

Project challenge

To increase and foster the competence of Cultural Awareness and Expression in European communities using art as a tool in education.

Solutions

At SFC we take care of coordinating the project. This means making sure that everything goes according to plan, on time and above all of high quality.

In addition, we will bring the policy work package and templates for stakeholder engagement. We will conduct co-creation sessions to profile and identify gaps in education systems and co-write a study on this. Also, in these Hubs, we will co-create national plans for each country and public policy recommendations at European level.

Results

PULSE-ART will generate key outputs to integrate arts in education and promote Cultural Awareness and Expression (CAE). Main outputs include a replicable Methodology for the use of arts formats in different educational formats, a Competence Framework, a Professional Development Programme (PDP Toolkit) and the Arts in Education Observatory, which will collect resources and good practices. In addition, National Action Plans and European policy recommendations will be developed. Publications include scientific articles on methodological uses, state of the art and current capacities of education systems, impact reports and replicability guides, disseminated at international events and platforms.
